The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC regulates safety requirements for all machines/appliances in which at least one component is driven by a motor or by spring force. In the case of catering equipment, this applies to a large number of devices. For example, the fan wheel of a combi steamer or the spring-loaded lid of a cooking kettle. Compliance with this directive allows the machine to be CE marked.
