Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 lays down specific rules for food of animal origin and adds specific requirements for all food of animal origin to the general hygiene requirements. It applies exclusively to unprocessed products of animal origin and to food resulting from the primary processing of unprocessed animal products. These food businesses are subject to approval.
